Dynamics 365 gets 3 New Role-Based Certifications
Just last week, I was delivering a custom Field Service/Connected Field Service training and at the end the audience was asking about the certification paths that they could take.
I suggested them to wait for a couple of months as new Role-based certifications are rolling out and I was sure sooner (than later) these certifications will start popping up for Dynamics 365, rendering all other certificates obsolete.
And surprisingly, when I was mentioning this fact, Microsoft was updating MCP/MCT sites to reflect these new certifications.
And as with all other exams, these certifications have come out as beta exams first (BETA codes are available to MCTs here : https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/learning/mct-betacodes.aspx)
Here are the first three certifications
Microsoft Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement Core (Exam MB-200) –
This exam is a prerequisite for role-based business applications certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 for Sales Functional Consultant Associate and Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 for Customer Service Functional Consultant Associate, as well as other Microsoft Dynamics 365 certifications that are coming soon. As a functional consultant, the candidate for this exam is aware of bundled versions of features but does not primarily work with these bundled products. Candidates are primarily responsible for configuring the system to meet client needs, performing design tasks related to implementing new features and functionality, and implementing and testing system changes. Candidates plan the functional design for solutions, implement an application lifecycle management (ALM) process, migrate data and objects from legacy and external systems, integrate Power Platform with other systems, and manage the Power Platform environment.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales (Exam MB-210) –
This exam is for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Sales Functional Consultant role and the Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 for Sales Functional Consultant Associate certification. Candidates for this exam are Dynamics 365 functional consultants with sales expertise. Candidates are responsible for implementing solutions that support a sales life cycle to run efficiently and effectively to meet revenue targets, business strategies, and company objectives. Candidates are responsible for configuring and expanding the core functionality of Leads, Contacts, Accounts, Opportunities and supporting entities to map to the sales processes in place at the company. They identify opportunities to use PowerApps for mobile applications, Microsoft Flow for application integration, business process flows, and other automation tools to construct an application that supports and accelerates the “lead to cash journey.” Candidates must have strong business knowledge and preferably first-person experience in the sales world in one or more sales roles.
Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Customer Service (Exam MB-230) –
This exam is for the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Customer Service Functional Consultant role and the Microsoft Certified: Dynamics 365 for Customer Service Functional Consultant Associate certification. Candidates design and implement service management visualizations and reports provided by and in collaboration with the Solution Architect. Candidates collaborate with the Customer Engagement administrator to implement and upgrade Power platform components, including knowledge base, and Voice of the Customer.
Candidates must have strong applied knowledge meeting user needs through the Dynamics 365 Customer Service, including in-depth understanding of cases, knowledge base, queues, entitlements, Service Level Agreements (SLAs), visualizations, and Unified Service Desk. Candidates should understand industry terminology, priorities, standards, methodologies, customer service operations, and best practices.
